1. Before you book
By completing a booking with Bikecraft Motorcycle Rider Training ("Bikecraft", "we", "us"), you agree to these terms. Please read them carefully, especially the sections on cancelling and changing dates.
Licence requirement. You must have held a full or provisional driver licence for at least 12 months before your Q-Ride course begins. Please confirm your eligibility with the Department of Transport and Main Roads before booking.
How we count notice periods
- A business day is Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays observed in Cairns.
- The course start date is the first day of your course, as shown in your booking confirmation.
- 7 business days' notice means we must receive your request by 5pm on a business day, with at least 7 full business days remaining before your course start date. The day you contact us and the course start date are not counted.
- Example: for a course starting on a Monday with no public holidays in between, we need your request by 5pm on the Wednesday 12 days before.
- All cancellation, date change and transfer requests must be made in writing by email to bikecraftmrt@gmail.com. Phone calls, voicemails and social media messages do not count as notice. We will reply to confirm we have received your request.
2. Cancelling your booking
Our courses run with small groups and limited places. When a place is cancelled at short notice, we are rarely able to offer it to another rider in time, so the following applies.

The $60 administration fee covers our booking administration and the payment processing costs charged to us when a payment is received and refunded. Refunds are paid to the original payment method, usually within 10 business days.
The no-refund rule inside 7 business days applies regardless of the reason for cancelling, except as set out in section 4.
3. Changing your course date

A new date is subject to availability. A booking that has already been moved once may be moved again only at Bikecraft's discretion.
If you can no longer attend inside the 7 business day window, consider transferring your place to someone else (section 4).
4. Transfers, medical circumstances and credits
Transferring your place to another rider. You may pass your booking to another person up to 3 business days before your course start date. Email us their full name and contact details. The new rider must meet all course eligibility requirements and accept these terms. Transfers are free.
Serious illness or injury. If a serious illness or injury prevents you from attending inside the 7 business day window, contact us before your course starts and provide a medical certificate from a registered practitioner. We will consider each case individually and may, at our discretion, offer a course credit. Medical certificates do not entitle you to a cash refund.
Course credits. Any credit we issue is non-transferable, has no cash value and must be used within 3 months of the date it is issued. Unused credits expire after that time.
5. Changes made by Bikecraft
If we cancel or move a course. Occasionally we may need to cancel or reschedule a course because of circumstances outside our control. If this happens, we will contact you by phone or email and offer a new date or a course credit. If neither suits you, you may request a full refund of the amount paid.
Minimum numbers. Each course needs at least two riders to go ahead. If a course does not reach this number, we will let you know as early as possible and you can choose a new date or a full refund.
Weather. Courses run in most conditions. Only the trainer can decide on the day that conditions are unsafe to ride. Unless we contact you, please assume your course is going ahead and attend as booked.
6. On the day: when the course fee is forfeited
In each situation below, you will not be able to take part, the full course fee is retained with no refund or date change, and you will need to book and pay again to complete the course.
- Not attending. You do not turn up for your course for any reason, including weather, work or family commitments, transport or mechanical problems.
- Arriving late. You arrive more than 10 minutes after the scheduled start time and the trainer decides you cannot join.
- Missing protective gear. You must wear long pants (such as jeans) and enclosed shoes that cover the ankle. Bikecraft can supply a helmet, jacket and gloves. If you bring your own helmet, it must meet Australian standards.
- Unsuitable motorcycle. If you ride your own bike, it must be registered, roadworthy and the correct class for the course (LAMS or non-LAMS approved).
- Unfit to ride. You appear to be affected by alcohol or drugs, or the trainer otherwise decides it is unsafe for you to ride.
- Unacceptable behaviour. You are disruptive, disrespectful, abusive, use offensive language, or discriminate against other participants or staff.
7. Damage, liability and other conditions
Damage. You are responsible for any damage you cause to Bikecraft motorcycles, protective gear or property. We will assess the cost of each case individually, and payment is due in full within 14 days of the damage occurring.
Liability. To the extent permitted by law, Bikecraft is not liable for injury, loss or damage caused by you or another rider during the course.
Trainer decisions. Decisions made by the trainer during the course are final. Any attempt to bribe, intimidate or pressure a trainer will be reported to the relevant authorities.
Photos and video. Our team may take photos or video during courses. By booking, you consent to Bikecraft using this material in its marketing and social media.
Your consumer rights. Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot lawfully be excluded.
8. Your acknowledgements
As a Q-Ride provider, we must make sure every participant understands the following before enrolling. By booking, you confirm that:
- You understand what is required to obtain a Queensland motorcycle learner, provisional and open licence.
- You have chosen the right course for your needs. If you are unsure, please call us before booking.
- You have read the course information and understand what you need to meet to be admitted to, and successfully complete, the course.
- You have read and accept these terms, including the cancellation and date change rules in sections 2 and 3.
- You will arrive on time, wear the required protective gear and, if riding your own motorcycle, bring one that meets the requirements in section 6.
- You will treat other participants and staff with respect throughout the course.
